The easiest way to import MBOX files into a cPanel mailbox is by using an email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook connected with your cPanel email account through IMAP settings. I once struggled with this process because cPanel webmail does not offer a direct MBOX import option. At first, I tried uploading the MBOX file directly into webmail, but nothing worked properly.
After some research, I found that the manual method involves importing the MBOX file into Thunderbird first and then dragging the emails into the cPanel mailbox folders synced through IMAP. This uploads the emails to the server automatically. However, when dealing with large mailbox data, the process becomes slow and complicated.
To avoid these issues, I later used BLR MBOX Converter. It made the migration process much easier by importing MBOX emails into the cPanel mailbox while keeping attachments, folder hierarchy, and email formatting completely secure.
