What is the future path of Access?

You could pick up the best clues about what Microsoft is planning to do in
future versions of JET in the blog maintained by the Access Development
Team:
http://blogs.msdn.com/access/

Anyone else who knows it probably unable to say much.

As you saw with Access 2007, Microsoft is committed to developing Access -
both the interface (major upgrade) and the engine (multi-valued fields etc),
and the connectivity (Sharepoint and Exchange.)

its a great departmental and small/mid business database.....with rapid forms
and report design/generator and straight forward query design view...fully
sql compliant and integrated into the Office Suite

going to sqlserver with reporting server and separate visual.net forms
design (or any commercial / shareware equivalent) is a step many in this
market segment will never take....

you have to look at it by the customer segment...not just the
technology.....very much like the "future path of Excel" - - - hopefully
forever available and improved...zillions of people use it....

I agree. And I don't think there's any way for MS to push them:)

Know thy customer:)
