what is the phone symbol beside the envelope in my inbox, email?

I'm getting a lot of rubbish emails. it started suddenly last week and when I
click on 1 it i get a message that 'this message has not been recieved by the
server'. There is also a phone beside the envelope on the title of the email.
what is all this
