Thank you for the info. I actually found exactly what I was looking for
with Excel last night, but I ran into another question that I posted to
the Excel board. Can you take a peek and see if maybe you have some info
regarding my issue with Copying and Pasting?
Thanks so much,
Lalla

Hello,
I am at a total loss here. I need to put together a database from
data
that I have all ready gathered.
Here is what I need to do but not sure what program to use....Excel
or
Access or ??? :

I have over 2000 Series Titles (romance novels). Each Series contains
anywhere from 2 to 1000 book titles. I would like to be able to see a
database of just the Series Titles, find the one I have and "click"
on
the Title to bring up the list of titles that are in that series and
have the unlimited fields (columns) to fill in where that book is
located.
So, for example :

Series Title : Going Home Series
click on that title and you get

1. Trading Secrets (SSE 1678) by Flynn, Christine
2. Sugar House, The (SSE 1690) by Flynn, Christine
3. Confessions Of A Small-Town Girl (SSE 1701) by Flynn,
Christine

and in the database view you could add Box 001 Box 099 in the columns
that follow as a book is found. That way, when all of the first
column
boxes are filled in, we have the entire set. Make sense??? I know,
it
probably doesn't, I have it in my head what I need, but just draw a
blank when I sit down to make something up.
I have been making one LONG file in Excel, but its going to be a
problem access files in the middle or near the end because of its
size.

Any ideas?
Thanks!!
Lalla-

Go with Microsoft Access - that way you get more interesting
relationships
between the data such as Authors etc and reporting.
