What service pack to I have?

I have Office 2003 Student and Teachers' Edition on my Windows XP. How do I
tell if I have SP1 or SP2, etc. I can open Word, Excel, etc and go to
Help>about and it lists the at the top of the Windows "Microsoft Word 2003"
and version number but it doesn't say anything about SP's. This program
came on a new computer in July 2004.

Is there a shortcut to "Office 2003" somewhere and not just shortcuts to the
individual portions of the overall Office package so that I can tell if my
overall program, Office, not just the components is at what SP?

Thanks.

Opening Help+About in Word 2003, which has SP1 installed, includes
"SP1" as part of the top line.

You can also go to the Office Update site (Help + Microsoft Office
Online) and click on the Check For Updates link and see what it says
that you need.

If you go to control panel, and find windows firewall. Doubleclick the
windows firewall to open it. If it opens it might be on or it might be off.
Turn it on. You have SP2. Another way to see if you have SP2 is to go to
security center and doubleclick it to open it. You should have a firewall
and automatic updates. Turn them on if they are off. SP2 gives you the most
security that microsoft has offered to date. If you don't have these things
in place you don't have the security of SP2.

Felix,

Thanks for the reply but it sounds to me like you are talking about SP 1 or
2 for Windows XP. I am concerned about the SP's for Office. Am I
understanding you correctly?
Previous reply from bxb7668 led me to what I think I needed to know. MSN
indicates I need to install Office SP1. I know I already have XP SP1 on my
machine.

Thanks.

That worked. Thanks.
Now, before I do anything else, I'm running Office Standard (Students and
Teachers edition) 2003 and I have also installed Access 97 from my CD that I
used to install MS OFFICE 97 Pro. Edition onto my old computer. I.e. I
basically have Office Professional except the Access is from 97. Do you
know if installing SP1 would mess things up for me because I have a "mixed"
installation?
Thanks.
