I have purchased frontpage 2003 and have gotten a static IP from my ISP
(verizon dsl). I am trying to figure out what I need for software to host my
website on my own pc. I know I need at least Windows server 2003 but there
are multiple versions and not sure what one I need. In reading it seems I
need shared point services and IIS which I am not sure if they come with
server 2003 or not? Also may need some SQL? I am just starting out in the web
arena but have been a software engineer for 15 years, would appreciate any
assistance. I am for now just trying to create a simple website and convert
one of my pc's to be the server but not looking to spend a lot of money
now.Thanks,john

Is there a pressing need for you to host the site yourself..? Surely
better to find a host to do it for you, more reliable as well, as they'll
have all the mechanisms for backups, UPS's etc, already in place. Probably
cheaper too.
