What to do when key on case is not accepted when reinstalling?

My computer crashed and had XP reinstalled. When trying to install Office
2000, using the product key on the case, I am told to use a valid key from
the yellow sticker on the case. Since I have already done this, what now?

I think you need to call back to microsoft and tell them what's going on,
just provide them you original cd's part number, which is located on the cd.
They will re set your new product key.
