What type of box do you use for a solid fill area in a brochure and how can
you get a black and white picture to be over it and show color thru it ?

Hi -

You can fill a text box or a shape or autoshape.

There is a "magic wand" tool on the drawing toolbar in Publisher 2002 (not
in 2000) that you can touch to an area in a picture and make that "color"
transparent.

I am using Publisher 2003 and I can't seem to get the transperncy function to
work either by ctrl + T or by using the Format Picture function, the
transperncy slide bar function isn't available in the fill area.

You will have to make the black and white photo semi-transparent in an paint type
editing program,
You can right-click the image, format picture, recolor button. This may give you the
kind of look you want to achieve.

Thanks but,
That wand does not make the complete photo overprint the solid fill color.
