What version of Office contains FP2002?

B

Bill

Is there a version of MS Office that includes FP2002, or is FP2002 only
available separately?

J

JCO

FP 2002 is part of Office XP (which is also know as Office 2002).
It is almost identical to FP2003 but considerably better than FP2000 (which
comes with Office 2000).

Was generally only available as a separate product
- there were some limited edition early upgrades of MS O XP that included it

Thanks... my next question is, how do I upgrade the entire Office
installation?do I do it in two steps? Does that mean two versions of Office
exist on my computer during the upgrade process?

What do you want to upgrade? Office or FrontPage? From which version to
which version?

B

Bill

Office Professional (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Publisher)
FrontPage

After I upgrade Office Professional from 2000 to 2002, FP2000 will still be
on my computer. So, until the next reboot, I'll have two versions of Office
products (Office Professional 2002 and FP2000) on my computer (a bad thing?)
until I upgrade FP2000. How will the install/upgrade process behave?

J

JCO

You can upgrade from office 2000 to OfficeXP (2002) with no conflicts. This
will automatically upgrade your FrontPage to FP2002. Not a problem.

Upgrading Office will Not upgrade FrontPage
- unless you also buy a FP upgrade

You can upgrade Office w/o upgrading FP

I have to disagree with that. FP2002 (which comes with OfficeXP) will be on
your computer if you upgrade your current Office 2000 to OfficeXP. I have
done this already. I then upgraded to Office2003 which is a purchased
program. The Office 2003 then intergraded with the OfficeXP products.

They all talk (software) together with no problems. Microsoft actually got
that one correct.

Whether it will upgrade to FP 2002 Depends on which version of Office XP is
being used to upgrade to.

What are you saying? That Office XP Professional contains a HIDDEN copy of
FrontPage 2002?

J

JCO

This part may be true. I went from Office 2000 Premium (which contains
FP2000) to OfficeXP Professional (which contains FP2002). If you upgrade
with an Office that does not contain the new version of FP, then it will not
upgrade it. I assumed to much.
