What's difference between MS Office XP & MS Office Professional

I know Windows XP Professional is the OPERATING SYSTEM. But, I am confused
about the MS Office applications: What's difference between MS Office XP and
MS Office Professional Edition?

Office XP is just another name for Office 2002, which has many different
office suites available.

MS Office Professional Edition could be a suite in Office 2000, 2002, or
2003, so you'd have to be specific.

Thanks so much, Tom. I have Office Professional Edition 2003. I HAD Office
XP and I don't honestly know WHICH suite it has. I bought Professional 2003
from Dell. They told me this would be an "upgrade." I already had Office
XP. (Had to return computer to Dell because of mistakes, mistakes in
billing, etc.) Can't get good service so went to Microsoft for help. I'm
out $500.00 if Office Professional isn't "better" than Office XP!!

"Better" is going to be a tough one. What's better for one person is not
necessarily better for another.

You need to evaluate your software requirements and then what you would
like. Sometimes we can't afford what we want so we need to "settle" for what
we need. Another factor that you need to remember is that Office XP has been
superseded by Office 2003 and Office 2003 will be superseded by Office 2007
within the next 5 (?) months.

If I may offer a suggestion, consider this seriously.

I've worked actively on both Office XP and Office 2003. The only
difference I notice is a blue skin for 2003. There are all these minor
differences between 2002 and 2003. Then I look at the comparison
charts linked earlier, and I realize that the differences are just
bullshit worth nothing. Don't waste your time and money. Stick with
2002 (XP).

I work on Office 07 Beta, which has everything 2002 and 2003 has, but
now they are charging money for it and adding an expiration date for
it...so dont waste your time.

There has always been an expiration date on it. It's a beta - a test
version. You don't get to keep using it forever for free.

And the fee is only $1.50. If that stops some people from using it, all the
better. That means fewer people who go bonkers on Feb 1, 2007 when it turns
back into a pumpkin and the user finds himself/herself up a very famous, yet
smelly, creek - without a paddle.
