I'm afraid you have been hornswaggled. What you described is not a database
at all, but a custom web application. And yes, you should hire a developer
to build it for you.

Hey Kelly.........

Hey... we are all at different places and that is ok. :)

As I think has already been suggested to you..... this is an application
development project... but more than likely it will probably also require
some database work to accomplish it. All in all it would be a web database
application. Don't get hung up on the "relational" term. It is an important
concept but unless you are going to try it yourself, the consultant you hire
will take care of all of that for you.

I guess you have 2 options. If you have the time before the project needs to
be completed I would encourage you to dig in and learn the database and
scripting skills as they could prove valuable to you in the future. AND...
don't let this scare you.... .you can do it!

If you don't have the time..... hire a consultant..... BUT... if it were
me..... I would have a part of the bargin that he does some training for
you.... teaches you in the process.... so at least you get something out of
it that will help you in the future.

I have time to learn to do some of this.
I will as you have suggested learn Access.
If for no other reason but to be able to ask reasonable questions.

I thought Daddy Bush did an OK job.
I would have voted for Mom Bush.
But, baby Bush is just what the book "Shrub" said he is.

I am not from Texas, I just live here now.
The people are nice and the open spaces are great.
