Which is the best way?

a) a data entry form bound to a table with access saying when input format
is incorrect, or

b) an unbound form with a button that updates the relevant table once all
validation has been done

A if you want to save about 2/3 of your time.

B if you're bored and have nothing better to do.

Actually there are occasions where B has merit, but they are extremely
rare.
