What's the best way to format block quotations?

What's the best way to format block quotations in a dissertation done in MLA
style?

In MLA style, the entire text, including block quotations must be
double-spaced, and block quotations must be indented one inch from the left
margin.

I'd greatly appreciate specifics on the easiest way to do this.

Thanks!

Hello Steve

margin.

Never seen that one before (and not _entirely_ sure I read your
specifications correctly), but: this calls for two paragraph styles, one
double spaced, and the other based on the former plus indents
left/right=1 inch.

Greetings
Robert
PS: not sure I'd like to quote that way, double spacing seems to
strange, typographically speaking.

Use Body Text (modified as required) for the body text and Block Text
(modified as required) for the block quotes. FWIW, I prefer to format the
paragraph line spacing as Exactly 24 points rather than double-spaced; this
is the equivalent of 3 lpi (typewriter double spacing) and to me looks
better for 12-pt text (actual double spacing looks too "spacey" to me).
