If that's what you were told, then you were not given enough information.
Saying you have Office XP is like saying you own a Ford. Saying you have
Office XP Pro is like saying you own a Ford Mustang. (I had to ask the
guys I work with for a car model that's currently manufactured. All I
could think of was Chevy and Corvair but depending on your age, you may
not have any idea of what I was talking about.)

Thanks but it's "swahili" to me. I am told both versions are used, yet
there
must be somewthing different between them; is it the number of s'wares
or
others.
Thanks to clarify.
PG
:
Office XP is a version of Office, Office XP Pro is the version and
specific
edition (tells you which programs are included in that suite).

Thanks
Peter
:
Office XP setup allows you to choose which Office Tools you want
installed.
Don
Thanks for the info Don. I'm doing pc software inventory at work
and
I'm
just trying to figure out what the differences are so I know if we
really
need it or not.
:
I'd like to know what the difference is between MS Office XP Pro
and
MS
Office Tools 2002. Both are loaded on my machine and I'm not sure
what
the
XP Pro really is.
Office XP is the name Microsoft choose for various collections of
Office
2002 applications. Office XP Professional is one of those
collections.
Office XP Standard is another.
Office Tools 2002 is a collection of support applications for
Office
XP.
You
can see what is included under Office Tools by looking at the list
in
your
Program listings or by running setup an looking at the list under
the
Office
Tools heading.
