when a message is forwarded by a rule it does not show in my sent

When using rules to forward items to an email address how can I tell if my
rules are working when there is nothing in my sent items. These rules are
for an unattended mailbox where based on the subject, the mail is forwarded
to different groups. When I sign in as an administrator using a outlook
profile for the unattended mailbox, I can not see any evidence of my rules
working or not working. How can I verify that my forwarding rules have
worked on items in the inbox? (Aside from sending test messages
periodically) Thanks

You could always include yourself as a recipient; if the rule works, you get
a copy of the forwarded message, if it doesn't, no copy.
