Hi Bill,
This did not do anything for me. I noticed though that when I go back
through the sequence the DDE box is again checked, it seems to do it on its
own?? Just to make sure I am following directions correctly, I did not find
the Folder Options under the view menue. It was under the Tools Menu. Onci I
find the Registered file Types I have to click Advanced not edit. Do these
actions sound right??
Thanks for you continued help.

Th procedure yo used should be right for XP.
Do you have Firefox installed?
The article is actually a bit suspect.
Try this instead:
1.. Open Explorer
2.. Select Tools and then Folder Options
3.. Select the File Types tab
4.. Select Extension: (NONE), File Type: HyperText Transfer Protocol
<<<<<< This might be listed as "Internet Shortcut".
5.. Click Advanced toward the bottom of the window
6.. In the Edit File Type window, select open and click Edit
7.. Clear the check for DDE above the DDE message box (which should
contain "%1" or similar)
8.. Click OK, Click OK
9.. Repeat for File Type: HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy and FTP

Hi Bill,
Sorry it took so long to get back with you. This did work. Thanks a lot. It
was one of those problems that was not earth shaking but made you want to
shake the comnputer when it would not respond the way you wanted it to.
Again, thanks a lot.
