When forwarding message it always sits in outbox and doesn't go

Whenever I forward a message on Microsoft Office outlook 2007 it just sits in
the outbox and keeps saying it has been sent. It doesn't say "Sent" in the
sent file, just on the bottom of the screen. In turn I have to delete it from
the outbox.
Some people say they rec'd it, but others don't.
What do I do to correct this.

What type of mail server?
Does it matter how many people you forward to?
Do all the messages you forward have attachments?

Try forwarding a message to a gmail/hotmail/yahoo address that you set up
to see if you can reproduce the problem in a controlled environment.
