when I do "save as" it takes few minutes to save

In Word or Excel or mail merge, when I do "save as" for a document, the sand
glass just stand still for about 2 minutes, and the program will not respond
to anything. I even uninstalled Office 2003 pro. from the C:\ drive and
installed it on a separete D:\ drive, but the problem is still there, would
the McAfee real time scan can effect this "save as" process. Please help.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
