When I drag and drop overwrites my notes, Options ''Alert beforeoverwriting cell"

When I drag and drop in excel, it overwrites my notes without warming
me. Why does this happen even after I select in Options ''Alert
before overwriting cell"? On my work computer it works fine, but not
at home. Thanks.
