Have been using MS word for over ten years. Just got new computer running XP,
and just bought, installed, and began using Office 2003/Word.
When I first installed the program, on SOME documents, not all, when I would
hightlight a word, then press delete, nothing would happen UNTIL I click
somewhere, or hit any key. Then the word would be deleted. Also happens with
control-Z, control-Y, control-X, or any same command from the edit menu.
Tried every known option and preference and customization possible without
change.
Doesn't matter what view (print, normal, web)
Finally I reinstalled the program, then it worked find. Copy a sentence,
control-V would paste it immediately. Double click on a word, press delete
(Backspace), the word was gone. All fine for a week and half.
Today, the strange behavior is back. I want to SCREAM!!!
Try making edits that don't happen until you click the document. It's VERY
disconcerting.
Could I have accidentally pressed a keyboard combination to effect this
change? How can I get Word to STOP doing this???
Help!
Thanks
