When I open my MS Word 2002, the Startup Task Pane doesn't open.

I have already marked the Show at Start Up on both the pane itself and in
Tools Options on the View Tab. I have run Detect and Repair without any
luck. When my Word opens, the task pane is there for like three seconds and
then just closes.
