when I type M123456E on cell a I want Mary Jones on cell b

Need help Mississippi Girl

I am working on a worksheet that I enter about 30 different number that have
30 diffent names and sometimes I make mistakes spelling them. I saw a report
that had drop down manus and as soon they typed the number the correct name
appeared on the assign cell. Please help!!!! :-(

These names will never change but I need to make a report about them
everyday and add new order to it using the same names.
