when installing office 2000 my windows won't read mdt. file why? .

i have already had this program on my comp. i reboot my comp now it wont read
mdt. file on my disc. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is an Access file. Can you install in safe mode?

Could be your MDAC components need refreshing.
