When is Normal.Dot Located?

T

Terry Moriarty

I've managed to corrupt my Normal.Dot. I was told to
rename it and then Word would create a new one.

But I can't find Normal.Dot. Is it a hidden file?

I'm running Windows 2000.

Thanks

It is probably a hidden file. Where it is depends very much on your
operating system and its setup. It is in the folder designated for user
templates in Word.
Tools => Options => File Locations (tab)

In Windows go under View => Folder Options and allow Windows to show hidden
and system files.

Hi Terry,

It could be in a couple places, depending on your configuration. The easiest
way to locate it is to use the Search function from the Start button.

HTH and have a great day!
