When is the NEW Office available?

When is Office available? And what's the point of adding the 'year' when 2003
is available in 2005? Where are 2004, 2005 updates?

I want to spend my money!!!!

A new version of Office is in the makings. Release time has not be set yet -
one rumor is later this year. As for adding the year, how would you know the
difference between Office 97 and Office 2003 if it wasn't labeled as such?

Don't be in such a hurry to spend your money. Contrary to popular thought,
it will *not* burn a hole in your pocket. If you need Office, then get it
now. If you don't need it, then save your pennies.

The 'year' of release was 2003, and Office has remained the same since..
Office 2004 was produced for the Mac computers in 2004, and there have been
no changes to either, so they could hardly use the name Office 2005..

Office 2006 is in progress, but that is not to say that it will be released
at the start of 2006..

To add one bit to the previous replies. Office 2003 is version 11.
Microsoft's announced target date for the next Windows version
of Microsoft Office (v12) is the 2nd half of 2006.

No one knows if they will follow their previous naming convention and
use the year it was released - nor does anyone know if it will even be
released by 2006.

The safest bet is to refer to the next version as Office 12. :)
