When job is sent to other printers it does not reset to default

Our primary printer is set as the default. But when we print to our other two
printers (color & copier), the main printer does not reset. So when you print
the next job it goes to the printer you used previously with all the same
options chosen for that preious print job. Our IT person says this the way
Microsoft works now and nothing can be done.

The "Default Printer" is used after you open an application UNTIL YOU
CHANGE the printer to be used. The SELECTED printer will CONTINUE to be
used UNTIL the user changes it OR CLOSES and REOPENS the Application.
That is how it is designed to work.

"and nothing can be done"... wrong!! You can easily record yourself a few
macros printing to the various printers (that is, unless they don't LET you
use macros!!). I used to work with 3 different printers, and it was quite
expensive to accidentally send to the color printer. So I made my default
printer button have a yellow smilie, and my mid-range color printer a pink
smilie, and my double-whammy color printer had a purple smilie. Here's the
instructions:
http://www.officearticles.com/word/record_a_macro_in_microsoft_word.htm
Just record a macro while you send a print job to each printer. You can even
send a single blank page to the printer for the purpose of recording. You
might also want to consider creating a macro to print just the current page
while you're at it. I always put a capital P on that icon.

I hope this helps!
