when opening outlook, hard drive grinds for up to

10 minutes before it will open . I have seen other people with this
problem, any ideas???? I haven't seen any posts with solutions however??
my pst is about 1.6 gigs and even when I archive to get it to 600Mb it still
exhibits the same problem.

one last note, I cannot confirm this but I think I have noticed it- This
does not do this everytime, it tends to happen the first time I open outlook
in the morning, so it might grind away when I open at 9am but after that I
can reboot and close outlook and it doesnt seem to go throu that process
untill the day flips over.

Please help???

May also want to do a scan on the personal folder use scanpst.exe. I would
also suggest minimizing the size of the personal folder to 800mb or less.
You can do this by deleting items or creating multiple personal folders.

Also make sure that all of the necessary windows and office patches are
loaded.
