When Printing In Word, My Text Shifts To The Left

L

When I attempt to print a document in Word 2003, I select the print option
and all of a sudden the text will shift all the way over to the right.

Any way to stop this from happening?

Hi Laitkens,

What view are you working in while in Word? The 'Normal/draft' view doesn't necessarily reflect how things will print. Print
Layout view is a better representation.

Does File=>Print Preview match what you see on screen or what's on the printer?

Hi Bob,

I am working in the Print layout view. This only happens intermittently as
well. It happens within the document itself before I even print. I just
click on the print icon and all the text overlaps itself to the left of the
document. The only way I am able to correct this is to close out and reopen
the document. When it asks me to save, the document saves all jumbles as
well.

Hope this makes sense....

Hi Laitkens,

Ahh, the 'squished text' bug :) It can happen when there are left over temp files around and/or from the use of certain Word
add-ins.

With Word & Outlook closed, use Start=>Search and recycle files found using the string
~$*.*;*.*
then start Word.

When in Word and it happens, you can often use File=>Print and choose a different printer, then switch back to the one you want (you
don't need to print when you make the change) then go back to your document and it should be cleared.
