When sending an appointment to a group, multiple instances of name

One of my users sent an appointment to 2 distribution lists. Each list
contains unique users. When we look at the appointment email that she sent,
it has only the 2 distribution lists listed in the TO field. We can expand
the distribution lists and see the unique users, even in the sent
appointment. However, when we look at the appointment as it comes into one
of the recipients, it has the first group, the second group, then each
individual member of the second group listed out. Further, when looking at
the appointment in her calendar, the tracking tab shows the two groups and
each of the individual users from the second group. When we expand the
second group, the tracking tab has them listed twice, once having responded,
once with no reply.

Has anyone else ever seen this? I’m not even sure how to query the
Microsoft KB on something like this.
