When to Migrate

I currently have Project Server 2003 installed in a pilot phase with little
use. The configuration is nto complete, and I question how the RBS was set
up as well as permissions. We were offered a free upgrade to 2007. My
question is three fold. What is the risk in not upgrading? If I upgrade,
should I migrate my data or go through a new installation? What are the
risks to both?

Hi Renee,

Ask yourself what you cannot do now with PS2003 that is required by the
business to optimize the control/monitoring processes. Then find out if
these short falls can be addressed within the current software or require an
upgrade.

The identified shortfalls can then be assessed for risk.

If you're still in pilot phase and don't understand how the RBS/Permissions,
then who does ? If you have a third party assisting in the deployment, make
sure that you fully understand the functional spec and that it aligns itself
to your business requirements.
