When were timesheets submitted

T

TroyS

is anyone aware of a timestamp or date submitted field that shows when a
timesheet was submitted?
I realize that parts of a timesheet may be submitted at different
times/sessions and so there may not be such a field.

Has anyone tackleded the situation on how to find out/determine whether or
not people have submitted their timesheets by a certain date/time?
for example, i want to know who has NOT submitted their timesheets by 9am
each and every Monday....

I've looked at the unsubmitted views in PWA, but i don't believe that this
is always accurate.....

any ideas are welcome...

thx.

There is another discusson several weeks (?months?) ago, and I tried that
solution, but it was, frankl too much work.

Here is what I do that works for me:
I have set the email ootions to send me and email when one of my resources
submits task updates. In my email client I have set up a rule to place all
these emails in one folder.

I can then easily see who and when a resourse has updated their tasks. This
has the side benefit of settling some disagreements with what tasks they
update.

You might try this technique and see if it helps you:

1. Log into PWA and navigate to the Resource Center page
2. Click the View resource assignments link in the sidepane
3. Select the resources that are assigned in your projects and click the
Apply button
4. Select the Timesheet format link in the sidepane
5. Click the View Options tab and select the "Show scheduled work" option
6. Click the View Options tab again to collapse the options

Examine the information in the Submitted column on the left side of the
page. This will show you the date that the team member submitted actuals
for each task in each project. Scroll to the far right side of the data
grid and examine the data in the Status column. If someone has updated
actuals to you for a task, you will see the words, "Changes submitted." If
someone entered their actuals, but saved them instead of updating them to
you, you will see the words, "Changes not yet submitted." If someone did
not enter actuals at all (and obviously sent nothing to you), you will see
the words, "No change since last update." You can also examine the
timesheet portion of the view and see the actual hours that people submitted
to you, or entered and saved on their timesheet. If you see blue numbers on
the timesheet, they were updated to you. If you see red numbers, they have
been saved by the team member but have not been updated yet.

If this view is helpful to you, click the Save Link button at the top of the
data grid and save this custom view as a link. The next time you want to
apply it, you can click the link and it will select the resources
automatically and display the timesheet view. Hope this helps.
