When will PPT default to either 16:9 or 16:10

Perhaps this is a question for a Microsoft guru. As an IT product manager,
I'm noticing that most laptops have now switched to wide (16:10) aspect
ratio. Desktop monitors are also following this trend and in our office, we
have noticed about a 50/50 mix. However, the majority our projectors and
screens are 4:3, but typically we masked the top and bottom of the screen.

The question is when will Microsoft make wide aspect the standard for
PowerPoint slides? I understand that this setting can be changed but 4:3 is
the default ratio.

There's more than one size of "widescreen" monitors. 16:10 and 16:9. If you
prefer one of those formats as you standard, open a blank presentation,
change slide size to your preferred size and save it as blank.potx to your
standard template folder. Every new presentation will open up with that
aspect ratio.

Best regards,
Ute
