When Word starts it looks like safe mode. Can I change Word's disp

I am using Word 2002 in Works. How do I access Word's display mode only?
Control panel changes don't work.

Locate Winword.exe and create a shortcut to it.

Then do yourself a big favor and hop over to Add/Remove Programs in
the Control Panel and uninstall the "Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for
Word". This add-in is known to cause several issues and causing Word
to crash is fairly high in the list.
