Describe exactly the steps you're taking to try to open Outlook. Are you
clicking on a desktop shortcut? Are you clicking on a Start menu item?
What?

I am clicking on the Quick Launch icon. Something else I
noticed - when I shut down OE withOUT logging off my
identity (which is password protected) then it does NOT
start automatically when I start Outlook. (sorry about the
dupe post - I reposted because the subject line was
truncated in this one)

Does the Quick Launch shortcut actually point to Outlook?

It seems to, but just to verify the problem, I tried
launching Outlook via the Programs menu, and the desktop
icon - same "phenomenon" occurs - OE6 wants to launch also
- but ONLY when I had previously logged off the identity
(In case I wasnt clear, Outlook DOES launch with all three
of those methods - Quik Launch, Programs, Desktop - and
OE6 tries to launch ALSO)
