Where are form datasheet column settings saved?

Hi,
my customer has the following problem on some computers: MS Access does not
save column layout settings (e.g. width, position, visibility) in form
datasheet view.

Users are connected to their local SYSTEM.MDW and the user Administrator has
no password (security disabled).

I don't understand, why column settings are stored on some PCs and on others
it does not work.

Anybody out there who knows
1. where form datasheet view column settings are saved
2. situations when column settings are not stored
