Where Are O2003 Messages for HD Restore?

I'm restoring a defective hard drive not completely backed up. If I can get
most of the data back, is there a particluar place (directory) I should look
to find and restore email with Outlook 2003?

Am I in for a nightmare trying to restore? <g>

TIA for any help.

Outlook stores its mail, contacts, etc. in a file with a .pst extension.
Make certain that you can view hidden files before searching for it. Once
you find it, copy it to a CD or some other removable media. Copy from the CD
onto your new hard drive, remove the "Read Only" attribute and open it with
your version of Outlook on the new hard drive.

It's actually quite painless.

By default, PSTs are located in the hidden folder x:\Documents and
Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
