Where can I find a basic tutorial for MS Access?

I haven't used MS Access since taking a course in 1998. I would like to keep
an inventory of material and equipment, including the location. Is Access
the best tool to use and how would I use it?

Yes, Access can certainly do this.

Here are some Access links from A to Z for you:

Also, you should seriously consider purchasing MVP John Viescas'
new book called "Building Microsoft Access Applications." One
of the samples in the book is creating an inventory application. I'm
sure the book will pay for itself.

Good luck,

Depends on a few things. What is the volume of data? Will this be a
multi-user system? How many users at a time? How critical is the data? What
are the security requirements?
If you just need a basic single-user system, Access is a quick tool to use,
however, it is not robust enough for mission critical systems (Microsoft
admits this themselves) since databases can get corrupted and be
unrecoverable.
Developing a sophisticated system in Access is not a trivial undertaking.
