where can i find Scientific symbols

i am trying to type notes for micro biology i can't find Scientific symbols
and notations anywhwere. is there a ploace for them, or do i need to down
load or purchase this

Additionally, the Symbol and Tunga fonts have some useful
symbols.

There are several free Chemistry fonts that might prove useful
eg. Royal Society of Chemistry:

There are also freeware molecular biology fonts:
http://www.btinternet.com/~ablumsohn/mbiol.htm#mbiol

You will find that Google (as usual :) will turn up rather a
lot.
