Where did the emails go while I was out-of-office ?

I had set the auto-reply feature while I was on holidays.

Now that I'm back I'd like to read through the messages I missed while gone
- but there are no new message in my inbox ... where did they go ???

EDIT - someone opened an older email program while I was gone and all my
mail went to it ....
