Where do I get a 10 bit 4:2:2 decompressor for a file from Mac?

John Scott

I converted a file from PPT for Mac and I get this message:

Quicktime and a Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 decompressor are needed to see
this picture"

What do I need to download? I've already downloaded Quicktime.

Don't you simply hate such goofy error messages? The fact is PPT can not
play a Quicktime file newer than version 2 of QT. You'll have to link to it
or insert the QT player as an object. In either case you end up witht he
full QT player in your presentation. (And any machine you send it to must
also have the QT player installed.)

If you do a Google for "mov2avi" you'll come up with all sorts of software
to convert it to something PPT can handle.

I am confused when you say '' I converted a file from PPT for Mac ''
Do you mean you converted a PPT file on the Mac to a Quicktime file or you
received a file from someone and there is a link in the presentation to a
quicktime file ?

You will not be able to down load a codec for free as they are for
professional editing use and you will need a valid user licence to use it.

This codec is a high end Broadcast Video codec used by video editing
applications such as Avid, Final Cut Pro, Canopus, to edit video. These files
are very large, 1.2 GB per minute of video.

So as I said, how did you get the QT file?
