Where is 2007’s "Outlook Today"?

Danni2004

Recently upgraded to Office 2007 and I am unable to locate Outlook Today in
this new version.

In 2003, on the left side where all of the folders are (navigation pane, I
think), Outlook Today was listed above "Infected", "Deleted", "Drafts",
"Inbox", etc. there was a “Mailbox – Mxxxx, Danielle – Outlook Todayâ€. It
allowed me to choose this as the default when Outlook opens and there was a
place to click on for customization of it.

In 2007, there is a “Mailbox – Mxxxx, Danielle†but it doesn’t say “Outlook
Today†and the reading pane just looks like my Inbox without any mail in it.
There is no place to click on for customization that I can find.

I liked the 2003 view because it should my meetings and upcoming tasks.

Where is this in 2007?

Thanks!

It should be in the Navigation Pane. It might be labeled Personal Folders and
have the familiar Outlook Today icon. A button to it should also be found on
the Advanced Toolbar. Go to View menu, point to Toolbars, and select Advanced.

Thanks Lois.

That means this "Mailbox - Mxxxx, Danielle" is my Outlook Today but how do
can it be customized to show my meetings and upcoming tasks?

When you click the icon in the Navigation Pane or when you click the Outlook
today button on the Advanced Toolbar, the familiar Outlook Today Pane should
appear on the right side. You'll see the Customize button on the top right of
the window and you can make you preferred changes then click the save button,
also on the top right side.

RIght-click "Mailbox - Mxxxx, Danielle" and choose Properties. Select the
"Home Page" tab. Check the box labeled "Show home page by default for this
folder". Click OK. Now left-click "Mailbox - Mxxxx, Danelle". You should
see Outlook Today.

If you're interested, I do have an alternative to Outlook Today that puts
your Calendar, Tasks and Inbox on a single page and gives you access to the
items therein.

On the Home Page tab, the "Address" field is empty and the "Show home page
by default" is grayed out. Is something supposed to be in the Address field?

Can you click "Restore Defaults"?

Yes, but nothing changes/happens.

Hello, Brian. I am having exactly the same problem with Outlook Today,
as Danny2004, and I've been going crazy trying to find a solution. I
experience this only in Outlook 2007 in the desktop I have at my
office. The laptop I use at home has also Outlook 2007, but it works
fine. I should say, at the office I use MS Exchange and back at home I
plainly use my Gmail with outlook, but this has never been the
problem, for even wit Exchange my Outlook Today worked fine before. By
the way, I have MS Office Professional Plus 2007 (US english version)
installed. Before that I had MS Office Professional Plus 2007, but the
spanish version. Everything worked perfectly with Outlook today until
the english version was installed. Does this hace anything to do with
the "Address" in the tab you pointed? For example, in my laptop it
says "res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
\Office12\1033\OUTLWVW.DLL/outlook.htm". Maybe if I try pasting this
address in the desktop at the office...

We would appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Rene

Before what?

Did you uninstall the Spanish version prior to installing the English version?

That's the correct path for the Outlook Today page for an English installation
of Outlook. You can paste that URL into Internet Explorer and see what it
looks like without the bindings. You can certainly try entering that string
into the Outlook lacking the Today page.

Yes, but nothing changes/happens.

Can you enter anything into the Address field? If so, try

res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook.htm
