Press Windows key + F to open the Windows search dialog.
In Office 2007 there is no search mechanism specific to Office; it's
been handed over to the operating system division. If your version of
Windows is Vista or Windows 7, there will be a search box in the
right-hand end of the title bar of any file dialog (Open, Save As,
etc.) but that's put there by Windows and doesn't exist for Windows
XP.
