Where is filter criteria stored?

When using the right-click "Filter by Selection," "Filter Excluding
Selection," etc., where are the filter criteria stored? I would like to be
able to store the filter criteria as a variable and use it later.

Nevermind. I found it. It's stored in me.filter.
