Where is stored the Enterprise Global 2007?

Robert

Hello,
In which database the Enterprise Global is stored?
And how can we copy the Enterprise Global from a test instance of PWA to a
production instance?
Thank for your help

Hi Robert,

I am not sure where the global enterprise is stored, but if you use
Microsofts Project Server playbooks, you can backup and restore the global
template. You should find playbooks on the microsoft site
Hope this helps

Hi Robert,
To my knowledge the EGT is stored in the published database. You can see
details when you look at the table msp_projects where proj_name = Eglobal or
Eglobal-date. Or also if you query for proj_type = 2 (current EGT) or 1002
(backup of EGT).
It doesn't mean that you just can copy over the records from 1 instance to
another.
Like Marc is mentioning it is better to use playbooks.

Ben,

The File / Save As... menu is grayed out when we are in the EG.
Do you think that it is reliable to copy, via the Organizer, all the view
items from the EG to an ordinary .MPP file, then do the copy from the MPP
file to the EG in the other instance of PS?
Thanks

It's definately stored in the Pub DB (there is a SQL script you can run to
recreate it).

IMO, the best way to copy the EGT is to copy the databases.

Paul,

It's impossible to copy the databases because we modifiy the EGT in a test
server and we want to copy it in a production server.
How can we update quickly the EGT from the test to the prod server ?
Thanks again

Hello,

It turned out that several custom fields are lost by using Playbooks. Do you
have any feeback about that ?
Thanks

Use playbooks to copy the enterprise fields, and use the followig method to
copy the views etc...Attached to source instance, save a normal project as an
MPP file, and then attached to the destination instance, use the organiser to
copy the tables and across to the EGT.
