Hi Roy,
The older style shortcuts were optional installation features in both Office 2003 and Office 2007, from the Microsoft Office choice
in Add/Remove programs in the Windows control panel. If it's listed as installed there then right click on the Windows Start
Button, choose 'Explore' then in the 'Start Menu' folder that comes up right click the 'Open Microsoft Office Document' and/or 'New
Microsoft Office Document' choice use 'pin to Start menu'
However, in Office 2007 there is a new interface to the templates with more features from within the applications.
Inside of Word, for example, click on
Office files Button=>New,
and from there the 'My templates' link brings up the old "New Documents" dialog.

In all past versions of Office, there were buttons that said "Open Office
Document" and "Create Office Document". If you clicked on one of them, I
would open a box where you could choose many different templates. On 2007, I cannot find that. Did it get left out? If now, how
do I install it? >>
