In the first screenshot, click on the plus arrow next to the highlighted
Office Tools Section of the tree.. (See screenshot for reference - your
screenshot) and select Do Not Install. Then, go back to the Office Tools
and highlight the Office Shortcut Bar and select - install all.

||| Windows XP Pro, with Office XP. There is no "do not install"
||| checkbox, and there is no Office Shortcut Bar mentioned under
||| Office Tools.

|||| Control Panel->Add/remove Programs->Microsoft Office->Install
|||| additional components->at the top of the tree, check "do not
|||| install"->navigate to the office tools part of the installation
|||| tree->expand that section and select Office Shortcut Bar->Run all
|||| from my computer. Okay out.

|||||| It is an optional installation under Office Tools. Rerun setup
|||||| and elect to just install the OSB.
