where to find the toolbar file

O

Orion

Hi there,

could someone please tell me where on the system I can find the file
which is keeping the information about a personalized toolbar? (like
C:\Windows\username8.xlb for the Excel toolbar).

Using Office 97, Win98

Thanx,
Norbert

If you haven't created a template yourself, then that would be in the
Normal.dot template.
In Word customisations are saved in templates. If you do not create
templates and just let Word "do its stuff", then all customisations are
saved in the default template which is Normal.dot.

If you have a lot of customisations, I would recommend that you either
create a template and save the customisations in that template, then, place
that template in the Start-up folder (Tools > Options > File Locations tab);
or, once you have saved your customisations in Normal.dot, back it up.
