I am a home web site developer and use FP both at home and at work to build
sites. What is the logical replacement product for me when FP is
discontinued?

Have you seen Image Gallery Magic by PVII?
With all your photos that could come in handy.

So all this time I have put into this is a big huge waste of time?

Only if you haven't taken the time to learn about the underlying
technologies -
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, possibly ASP or ASP.Net, IIS or or other Web
Server.

If you are 100% reliant on the tool, then you are pretty much screwed.
Particularly since the new new MS tools probably won't support the old IE
specific gizmoes you may have become accustomed to.

Yes, I purchased iGM today! It does look very flexible. Just got back from
another 9 days of a photoshoot "Utah Rocks!". Only have my Antelope Canyon
shots ready for the gallery though.

No, not really. FrontPage is how many of us got started. You just have a new
challenge/learning curve for FP's replacement OR Dreamweaver.

Your time was not wasted.
FrontPage, Top Style, Note Pad, and DW are just tools..
It is becoming proficient with the tools that counts.
The more you know about HTML and CSS the easier it is to use any of the
tools.

Expressions.

Dreamweaver's an excellent product, but having used Expression Web
Designer for a while, I can tell you that it is much better than
Dreamweaver. CSS support in EWD is incredible as well.

I believe so, yes. Some of FrontPage is still hanging around. We're
not looking at starting from the beginning again. However, there are
considerable new features that aim squarely at defeating Dreamweaver.

IMO, Dreamweaver has always beat Microsoft's offerings in the area of
CSS primarily. EWD puts an end to that with a significant improvement
in CSS tools. I'm not talking about taking CSS tools from FrontPage
and improving on them. These are all new tools that are incredibly
powerful and exciting.

And this is a bad thing? I love FrontPage but these tools cause more havoc
than good.
