Where to place "Personal.xls" and ".xlb" files?

Switched over from PC to mac

on the PC, I had my "Personal.xls" (macros) and "excel11.xlb" (toolbar)
files in an XLstart folder that autolaunched the files when I started
excel and which saved changed settings to when I closed

How can I duplicate that on the Mac, or where to place the files?

Thanks!

Your Personal.xls file (which is, by default, called "Personal Macro
Workbook" in MacXL, but there's no need to change it) goes in the

Microsoft Office 2004:Office:Startup:Excel

folder. Any file in that folder will open when you start XL.

The equivalent of the .xlb file is the

~:Library:preferences:Microsoft:Excel Toolbars (11)

file (where ~ is your home directory), though they're not directly
compatible.

To transfer your custom toolbars, you can attach them to a workbook in
WinXL (Tools/Customize...), and then open the workbook in MacXL.
Customizations to built-in toolbars (I don't recommend this - I usually
build my own toolbars instead), are best done in the GUI.
