Where's Privacy Options - Remove Personal Information?

N

I'm looking for Tools/Options/Security/Privacy options/remove personal
information, which is found in the current PC version of Word.

I can try saving in RTF - but not everything is eliminated when the
doc is opened again in Word.

Thanks!

This command is not needed in Mac Word because Mac Word cannot put Smart
Tags IN to the document.

To remove the information it does put in:

1) Make sure Preferences>Save>Allow Fast Saves is turned OFF (turn "Always
create backup copy" ON).

2) Make sure Tools>Track Changes>"Highlight change son screen" and
"Highlight changes in printed document" are turned ON so you can see if any
changes are being tracked.

3) Turn Tools>Track changes>Track changes while editing OFF.

4) Use Tools>Track Changes>Accept or Reject Changes>Accept All to remove
any existing tracked changes.

You cannot remove SmartTags in Mac Word, because it can't read them. Use PC
Word if you think the document contains any. If you want to make sure of
it, save the document in Word 4 for the Macintosh format: this will strip
any SmartTags, along with various types of formatting that the earlier
format did not support. You can then re-open the document and save it back
to the latest Word document format: the information will not come back
because Word X doesn;t have these functions.

Hope this helps
